More Useful Information About Legalizations and Authentications

Understanding the difference between apostille and legalization helps ensure your documents are prepared correctly for international use. Our team is here to guide you through the right option based on your destination and document type.

Apostille

An apostille is typically used for documents that will be presented in countries that accept this form of authentication under an international agreement. It confirms the validity of your document so it can be recognized abroad. Our team can assist you in preparing and managing your documents to help ensure they meet the necessary requirements.

Legalization

For countries that do not accept apostilles, a more detailed authentication process is required. This involves multiple steps to verify your documents before they can be accepted internationally. We assist in coordinating and managing this process from start to finish, helping ensure everything is completed accurately and efficiently.

Participating Countries in Hague Convention

The list of participating countries in the Hague Apostille Convention is periodically updated. The most recent revision available for this list was published in August 2016.

Please note: that country participation may change over time as additional countries adopt the convention. For example, Guatemala was scheduled to join the Hague Apostille Convention on September 18, 2017.

If you’re unsure whether your destination country accepts apostille or requires full legalization, our team can guide you and help determine the correct process for your documents.
