U.S. Passport for Minors

We assist with U.S. passport applications for minors, helping you prepare documents and avoid delays throughout the process.

Passport Submission Steps and Fee Breakdown

Applying for a minor’s U.S. passport requires both parents and the child to appear in person at a Passport Acceptance Facility as part of the standard application process. If one parent cannot attend, a completed and notarized DS-3053 form, along with a copy of the absent parent’s ID, must be provided. Once your documents are prepared, you’ll visit a Passport Acceptance Facility to submit your application. During this step, government fees will be paid directly at the facility, including the application fee and execution fee, using accepted payment methods. After submission, your documents will be sealed in an official envelope and returned to you. This envelope must remain unopened and brought back so we can continue assisting you with the expediting process.

Important Guidelines:

  • The applicant must be under 16 years old
  • Each child, including infants, must have their own passport

  • Do not sign the application until instructed to do so
  • If you have a Social Security number, it must be provided as part of your application

You’ll need to provide one valid proof of U.S. citizenship. This must be an original or certified copy—photocopies or notarized versions are not accepted.

Accepted documents include:
  • A U.S. passport in good condition, even if expired
  • A certified U.S. birth certificate issued by the appropriate state or local authority, showing full name, date and place of birth, parent(s)’ names, official filing date, registrar signature, and government seal
  • A Consular Report of Birth Abroad or Certification of Birth
  • A Certificate of Naturalization
  • An official Certificate of Citizenship
If you don’t have one of these documents or aren’t sure what to submit, we assist in reviewing your situation and guiding you toward acceptable options to help avoid delays.
If your previous U.S. passport is unavailable, you may need to request a file search as part of the process.
A parent or legal guardian must provide valid identification as part of the application process. Acceptable options include:
  • A current, valid U.S. driver’s license
  • A U.S. passport in good condition, even if expired
  • Proof of U.S. citizenship or naturalization
  • Identification issued to employees of a city, county, state, or federal office
  • A U.S. military or dependent ID
  • A valid foreign passport
  • A Mexican Matricula Consular ID (commonly used for child applications)
If you’re unsure which ID to provide or don’t have one of the options listed, we assist in guiding you through acceptable alternatives to help avoid delays and keep your application on track.
  • If a passport has been issued previously, include your most recent passport with your application, as long as it is in good condition.
  • Once your new passport is issued, your previous passport will be returned to you.
  • We assist in reviewing your documents to ensure everything is properly prepared and help prevent delays in the process.
Letter of Authorization

Your Letters of Authorization will be provided during your in-person visit. If you’re applying by mail, you’ll need to complete them in advance (leave the “Courier Company Name” field blank).

If available, include your travel itinerary or flight confirmation with your documents to support your timeline.

If you don’t have confirmed travel yet, you can still move forward with your application. We’ll guide you on the next steps to help keep your process on track.
You’ll need to submit a recent passport photo that meets current requirements:
  • Size must be 2″ x 2″
  • Taken on a plain white background
  • Captured within the last 30 days
If you’re unsure about photo requirements, we assist in reviewing your photos to help ensure they meet the necessary standards and avoid delays.

Government Expedite Fees must be paid by cashiers check or money order, payable to “US Department of State”.
