New Passport Applications

Once you have gathered all required documents, visit a Passport Acceptance Facility to complete your application and obtain a sealed package. Bring the sealed documents to our office, and we will handle the next steps to ensure your application is processed quickly and accurately.

Understanding the Passport Application Process

To apply for a new or first-time passport, you must meet one of the following conditions:

Once you have gathered all required documents, you must appear in person at a Passport Acceptance Facility to complete your application and receive a sealed packet. This sealed package must then be brought to our office so we can proceed with the next steps.

During your appointment, you will be required to pay an application fee along with a separate execution fee. The acceptance facility will place your application, supporting documents, and payment into a sealed envelope and return it to you. This packet should remain unopened and delivered directly to our office to continue processing.

Application fees must be paid by check (personal, certified, cashier’s, or traveler’s) or money order made payable to “U.S. Department of State.” Credit and debit cards are not accepted for these fees.

Execution fees can be paid using personal checks, money orders, or credit and debit cards, depending on the acceptance facility.

Your Questions Answered

Sameday Passport & Visa is a private expediting service that assists with U.S. passport and travel visa applications, providing guidance and support throughout the entire process.
What types of passport services are available, and which application form is required for each?

Applicants must submit a new application if they have never held the specific type of passport they are applying for.

For example, individuals applying for an Ordinary Passport for the first time must apply as new applicants, even if they currently hold an Official or Diplomatic Passport. Similarly, those applying for an Official or Diplomatic Passport must submit a new application if they have not previously been issued that passport type, regardless of holding an Ordinary Passport.

Passports in India are issued under three main classifications based on the applicant’s role and purpose of travel:

  • Ordinary Passport: Issued to general citizens for personal travel such as tourism, education, or business

  • Official Passport: Issed to individuals representing the country on official assignments

  • Diplomatic Passport: Issued to diplomats and high-ranking officials for international duties

Each passport type has specific eligibility criteria and application requirements depending on the purpose of travel.

The process involves completing the application form, gathering the required documents, and submitting them for verification and processing.

Depending on the service requested, applicants may need to attend an in-person appointment and provide supporting documents. Once submitted, the application is reviewed and processed, followed by issuance of the passport or Police Clearance Certificate.

  • Payments can be made using a variety of accepted methods, including credit or debit cards, checks, or money orders, depending on the service and submission method.
  • Service fees are charged separately from official processing charges. Payment instructions will be provided during the application process to ensure a smooth and secure transaction.
  • Tatkaal applications are designed for urgent travel needs and are processed on a priority basis. The process involves completing the application, submitting required documents, and selecting the Tatkaal option for expedited handling.

  • Once submitted, the application is reviewed and prioritized to ensure faster processing compared to standard timelines. Additional documentation may be required depending on the applicant’s case.
